Katherine's Journey into Mediumship

Thank you so much for sharing your story and insights with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?

I began my journey with mediumship many years ago. Initially, I performed readings, spiritual healing, and reiki for a limited number of people. I promised myself that after retiring from my job at UCHealth, I would establish a formal LLC mediumship practice in Mason, Ohio, called Spirit and the Veil LLC.

At the beginning of my 25 years of training, I gradually took more classes and learned reiki. This training was significant, especially after my grandson was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at birth. I took time off work to help my daughter and son-in-law by providing therapy and reiki to my grandson.

After retirement and completing numerous mediumship courses and certifications, I decided to elevate my practice. I enrolled in a two-year Spiritualist Ministry program and am now an ordained Spiritualist minister. This deeper commitment to my craft allows me to offer clients more authenticity during readings. I can officiate marriages, vow renewals, and naming ceremonies in the state of Ohio.

Understanding Mediumship and Spiritualism

People often wonder about mediums and Spiritualism. I describe it as the ability to communicate with loved ones in spirit. Channeling spirits to bring through memories and identifiers offers comfort to my clients. Recalling loved ones from the past brings their spirit into the present moment. Spiritualism is similar to many other religions in its belief in an afterlife. However, it goes a step further by emphasizing communication with those who have passed from earthly life.

Katherine Fricke is a newly ordained Spiritualist minister through the Journey Within Spiritualist Church in New Jersey. She is a certified medium and spiritual healer. Katherine has extensive training and certifications in the spiritual and healing arts, including Mediumship Mastery, Melody’s Master of Crystology, Laying on of Stones, Reiki I and II, Angelic Healing Attunement, and Church Style Healing Certificates. She has mentored in a mediumship program in Blue Ash, Ohio, and has presented at the BMSE/Victory of Light Expo. Additionally, she serves as a guest lecturer at the local Spiritualist Church in Ohio.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?

Readings provide clients with messages from their loved ones in spirit. A client may expect to hear from a specific loved one; however, spirit gives us what we need, not always what we want. Messages can offer pieces of the puzzle that bring clients closer to the questions and answers they seek.

I am an evidential medium who provides solid identifiers that clients will recognize as their loved ones. My goal is to offer a unique experience—one that resonates on multiple levels. This experience gives clients a better understanding of both this world and the next.

Death represents new life. The soul, free from the burden of the body, continues in spirit through eternity. The soul is at peace with earthly death and lives on in harmony with both our earthly world and the spirit world. We are all connected as human souls, yet we each have our own spiritual path. When you think of the loss of a loved one, are they gone forever? Our loved ones return to us in spirit, filling the emptiness with a new understanding of life and death.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?

Believe in your authenticity. Follow your instincts and know that you will serve only the highest and best in yourself and others. Have a plan, and rely on timing to create your business and craft.
